The Proposal

James decided to sit around on Ginny’s engagement ring for 8 months before proposing because he couldn’t do anything “expected.”  In June 2016, we went on a camping trip to Joshua Tree with some friends.  He roped them all in on the plan: Fred found the perfect camp site and brought out signs James had painted the week before; Sanje and Crystal helped with set-up, lighting, filming, and the ruse to get Ginny to the right place; and Lee Ann created a completely believable distraction, so the others could set it all in motion.  Once everything was in place, Ginny found herself listening to Peter Gabriel under the desert stars while James held a boom box above his head with “Will You Marry Me, Yes/No” on display.  With a can of spray paint to mark her choice, Ginny and James started their magical adventure together.
